Response to Obama’s State of the Union
As
President Obama spoke this past Tuesday during the State Of The Union (SOTU)
speech, he made several strong points as he focused towards improving the
quality of life for the people of America.
There are several points he mentioned on how the quality of life can
increase. One of the ways is starting while
a child is young, and giving them an opportunity for a “higher quality for early
education”. Pre-K and Kindergarten are
the first steps into the school system and Obama stated higher quality education
needs to start there. As children get
older and they get more involved in their scholastics they move through high
school towards graduation. After high school
one of the troubling factors most students face is the ability to afford
further education. With prices
continuously rising every year, Obama stated he wants to make, “college less
costly and more affordable.” All of
these points have a common relation which enhances the ability to reach another
of Obama’s goals. Once each of these
points Obama focused on are reach I believe according to his other statement of
“strengthening the middle class” can and will be reached.
